How To Update Windows

Welcome! In this article, we will take a look at how to make sure your computer is properly updated, so the installation of Omni programs and applications runs smoothly on your Omni Day.

When installing certain programs, pre-requisite checks are done to the system to ensure your computer can run them. Some of the pre-requisite checks done are:

1. Checking  your computer's wi-fi adapter is not enabled and that you are connected via ethernet.
2. Checking if Antivirus protection software is fully updated and the PC is free of virus.

Once you have ensured these qualifications are met, you are ready to update your Windows to the latest version by following the steps below:

Note: Some updates are not available or even visible until you have the right version before it. This is why it is important we know how to check for updates manually.

1. Click on the Start button.

2. Click on the Gear Icon to access the Settings menu.

3. Locate the Update & Security option within your Settings menu.

4. Click on the Check For Updates option. Allow some time while your systems scans for updates, this may take a few seconds.

5. Install All available updates that come up.

6. Click on the View Optional Updates option. Install All available optional updates as well.

7. Remember new updates might have become available after your last set. Continue Checking for updates until you don't longer see any pending updates.

8.  Ensure you are checking for updates on a daily basis to keep your computer updated and all your Omni tools functional.
